How to reach

First you have to reach Katra which is 42km from Jammu. Katra is the base camp for Vaishno devi. From Katra your trekking start. You can reach Katra by following ways :
  1. By Air : Nearest Airport is Jammu airport(Satwari Airport) which is 50km from Katra. You can hire a taxi or take a bus for Katra, base camp of Vaishno Devi. Bus fare is around ₹150-₹200 for Jammu airport to katra. This air.irctc.in is government official website check flights

  2. Train : The next option is by train. This is the cheapest option for who want a budget trip to Vaishno devi temple. Vande Bharat India’s fastest train also runs on this route so you can travel your journey in less time. Vande Bharat AC chair car seat cost you ₹1,650 with lunch, breakfast and dinner. General trains Sleeper Class ticket cost you ₹540 and general compartment ticket cost approx ₹250. So if budget is an issue go with general compartment.   3. Bus : Bus is also a good option for travel. Bus journey is very comfortable and you will enjoy it. Your Trekking starts from Banganga Check Post which is 1km from railway station. On Bhanganga check post you bags are checked and any items like drone, camera, gopro are not alowed here. So if you carry a camera or a drone with you then there are paid lockers(₹50/bag for a day) at this check post where you can left you camera. Your trek for Vaishno Devi temple is going to be approx 13.5km.  You have a option to continue your trekking on ponny(Horse) which cost you ₹1,250/person and ₹1,450 with child to Mata Rani Bhavan and ₹650/person to Ardhkuwari temple.

Gulshan Kumar Bhandara

If you are hungry and want to eat something then you do not have to visit any hotel because at this check post you get Gulshan Kumar Bhandara which runs on daily basis and timing of Bhandara is Morning 6am to evening 7pm.

Banganga

On banganga there is bathing ghat where many devotees take a dip into the water which is consider where good for us. And this is the origin of banganga river. This is the river which said that Arjuna from Mahabharat shoot a arrow on the ground and the result was that a fountain from under ground ganga was sprouted. Charanpaduka Mandir

This is the next place after the banganga. This is said that Mata rani seen Bhairav by turning, and here are Charan Paduka(Slipers) of Matarani. And all people pray here who are trekking to Vaishno devi temple.

Ardhkuwari Temple

This is the place where Matarani lives for 9 months the cave. Here is a beautiful temple and a cave which you must see if you are visiting. In ardhkuwari there are many dormitories beds for stay which costs ₹150/person and you have to book these dormitories before 2 months of trip on maavaishnodevi.org and some free accomodations service is also available.

From Ardhkuwari there are 2 ways to reach bhavan Himkoti and Sanjichat. On Sanjichat way you get free stay and Langar and Himkoti is consider the easiest way. From ardhkuwari you can hire a battery car with cost of ₹350/person to Bhavan. From here Matarani bhavan distance left is 5km.

Satya Bhojanalaya is between the himkoti way,it is a neat and clean bhojnalaya with budget friendly food prices. From here our trip plan for vaishno devi get to ways.

Matarani Bhavan

First of all you have to get a locker in any bhavan and then put your all bags, mobile in the locker because these things are not alowed in the Matarani Bhvan. And if you are wearing leather belts or anything leather made thing then you should not get entery inside the temple because there are 5-6 checking points before you enter into the temple.

Now take parsad which is available in many shops there with different prices like ₹20, ₹50, ₹100and ₹500. And now get into the line of temple for Matarani Dharshan. It will take 2-3 hours for your turn to darshan matarani.

Bhairav Temple

This is 1km from the Matarani temple and this is the last place of trip plan for Vaishno devi. This is consider that if you are not going to bhairav temple then your dharshan are not complete. You can go Bhairav temple by trekking or ropway. Ropway is also available from Matarani to Bhairav temple which cost you ₹100/person with return.

Take Parsad and do dharashan of Bhairav Baba. Now your Vaishno devi yatra is complete.
