Munsiyari
Munsiyari is small hamlet and the sub-division headquarters in Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand. If you want to spend some peaceful time on a hill station then Munsiyari is best option for you. In peak season there is no crowd at this place because where less people know about this location. People compared Munsiyari with Kashmir’s beauty.
How to Reach Munsiyari
There are ways two ways to reach Munsiyari first way is from Tanakpur, lohaghat, Pithoragarh, Madkot and second way is from Haldwani, Almora, Berinag, Thal.

By Air – Nearest airport Pantnagar airport from where you can hire a taxi to reach Munsiyari.

By Train – Nearest railway station is Kathgodam railway station which is 270 kilometers from Munsiyari.

By taxi – Hire a taxi or visit with your own vechicle is most convenient way to reach.
Where to Stay in Munsiyari
Normaly there is less crowd in Munsiyari so you cannot face any problem related to stay and food. Infact in peak season you will easily get budget friendly stays and food. There is a village Sarmoli near Munsiyari which is famous for homestay.
Places to visit in

Birthi waterfall – This waterfall is 35 kilometers from the Munsiyar and you find this waterfall on thal, berinag way. This waterfall is at 1800meters height from sea level

Kali muni temple – This temple is located on the way of birthi falls to Munsiyari. This temple is dedicated to Kali mata(Hindu goddess). Kalamuni top is at 2800meters height from sea level.

Nanda Devi Temple – You can start exploring from Nanda devi temple which is dedicated to goddess Parvati. This temple is 3 kilometers from the main bajaar. You get a panaromic view of Munsiyari and panchachuli peaks. You have to purchase entry ticket to see this temple which is 20 rupees per person and valid till 8am of next day.

Madkot and Darkot – These are two small villages near Munsiyari. Madkot is famous for its hot water pond and Darkot is famous for warm cloths which were made in this village. You see cloths making work in every house of darkot.
Trekking in
Khaliya Top
This is hub for trekking lovers because there are many treks here like Khaliya top. Here you get experience of walking in dense himalayas forests. You get amazing view of panchachuli peak from Khaliya top and you can go up from tree line and enjoy the green grass means bugyal. Bird watching is another thing you can do here and enjoy.
Thamri Kund trek
The way to kund(lake) is very beautiful and in the last of trek seeing a beautiful water kund you will be very happy if you are lucky then you may see Musk deers(kasturi mrig) drinking water from kund.
Maheshwari kund Trek
This is 1.5 kilometer beautiful trek in Munsiyari.
Best time to Visit
The best time to visit Munsiyari is during the summer months (April to June) and the autumn season (September to November) when the weather is pleasant, and the skies are clear. December to february ideal season for snowfall but road accessibility limited. So its better to visit in summer season to enjoy this beautiful and peaceful place.
